Pink gemstone set in a ring with a halo of small diamonds

Ratnapura and Colombo, Sri Lanka

Gemstone provenance, recorded from the gem pit before the stone is cut.

We record each stone from the pit in Ratnapura through the lapidary and the certificate to the buyer, so an origin claim can be checked before the stone changes hands.

Three facets of every record

Pit record

The pit, the miner group and the rough weight are signed when the stone is first found.

Lapidary step

Cutting is recorded with the weight before and after, and the cutter's name.

Transfer lines

Every sale adds a line, so the stone's history can be read from the pit onward.
